The hill splitter, which determines a separate pace on routes with inclines and declines, has been taken over by the successor of the Vantage V from the Grit-X. In addition, Polar adds further smartwatch functions with remote control for the smartphone player.

I have used Polar watches for at least 15 years including the 625, V800 and M430. I appreciate the platform and was successful with their running programs. The V800 offered orthostatic testing and allowed a red flag for me for some medical issues. The reason I am writing is I have thought I would never able to take advantage of the nightly recharge and other offerings that needed you to wear the watch with a Polar watch or any other manufacturer. I injured my watch wearing forearm that will always have sensitivity issues and being petite have never been able to wear anything comfortably accept for training and then the watch comes right off. Never in my wildest dreams did I think the Polar Vantage 2 would enable me to wear a watch 24 hours, comfortably. Not only that, I never notice it. It is not the smallest watch and I have a small wrist and it still is the most comfortable watch I have ever worn
