Microsoft snapping up Sega is the rumor that will never go away, but it now seems that Konami could also be in the sights of the parent company of the Xbox Game Studios. Microsoft could do with a boost in Japan as recent sales figures reported 10 Xbox One consoles sold compared to 78,134 Nintendo Switch units.

The hidden sheep

That's quite terrifying a website like notebookcheck gives credit to this twitter account, it's a known extreme Microsoft fanboy who keeps saying anything and non sense for years. Searching for more than 5 minutes would have show you that he knows nothing and just throw rumors out of his imagination. The amount fo fake news and believes are enormous since all the time he has posted.

First, this wont happen due to Japanese national pride. They will prefer to have Nintendo/Sony buying out those two instead of selling them to some international company.

Second, Microsoft is worst than Sony when it comes to managing IP. They have killed a lot of projects/products in the blink of an eye.

I hope nintendo buys up konami and sega because nintendo cares about old ips and listens more to it's fan base  and it shows when compared to either sony or microsoft.

this site is pure trash, the absolutely most useless, unsubstantiated, uninformed drek imaginable. b e g o n e from my recommendations.

A lot people just assume Konami is struggling. What many people don't know is that Konami has a strong presence in the casino gaming industry. Konami is not struggling in the least bit. Sega on the otherhand, well they merged with Sammy so I'm not sure how that would exactly work.

Not going to happen. Both companies are Kabushiki Kaisha's which means they cannot be straight up bought out buy a foreign corporation. Konami and Sega could sell IP's to Microsoft or they could strike exclusivity deals, but no buyouts.

They just spent $7.5 billion dollars on Bethesda, they're not going to spend another couple billion dollars so soon. Yes Microsoft is rich, but its going to take years for the actual Xbox division to recoup that money. Also neither one makes any sense as Xbox will never be popular in Japan and buying them and making their games exclusive would just kill the publishers. It amazes me dumb people even want this to happen. Its horrible for the industry when a giant conglomerate comes in and forcibly takes it over. The gaming industry is dead if MS just keeps buying all the major publishers.

1. Xbox never had a strong presence in Japan unlike SONY and the Big N. Even though, SONY on the other hand has started to become westernized as of recent history, especially closing their Japanese studios and giving their Japanese audience the "bird".

2. MS tried pulling this stunt with their attempt to buy Nintendo, another Japanese company TWICE, during the tail end of the N64 era and midway during GameCube era and the Big N gave MS the "bird". Nintendo, JUST like SEGA and Konami, are Kabushiki Kaisha style companies. Despite that those three Japanese companies have operations in America, they can't be bought by an American company.

3. Konami as a company, IS NOT struggling whatsoever given they have a HUGE pachinko business operation in Japan and most international countries. It just so happens that nowadays, they are hardly active in the video game industry segment. Plus, they still work on the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG line and that's still going strong, even in the mobile gaming markets.

4. SEGA on the other hand, is not doing well, but even then, they would NEVER give in to an American company despite having a strong relationship with MS during the Dreamcast and OG Xbox days. If anything, SEGA, and maybe Konami would be better off having strong relations with Nintendo. IF, God forbid, they were to become westernized like SONY is currently, then there could be talks about a buyout. But otherwise, it WILL NOT happen. Besides, it was constantly debunked time and time again.

I have NO idea how this shady article end up in my recommendations. It's clickbait and total misinformation. But I will also go on record and say that MS as a company, is greedy asl

I don't care who owns what I just want another Silent Hill game since we all got the teaser but never a full game. Instead we got the hiking/mail man simulator.
