A retailer has published US pricing for the Rocket Lake-S series, Intel's upcoming 11th Gen desktop processors. Not only are Rocket Lake-S processors more expensive than their Comet Lake-S predecessors, but they are also more expensive than the Ryzen 5 5600X, Ryzen 7 5800X and Ryzen 9 5900X from AMD.

Good job to AMD for make intel fall to its game. AMD will easily cut the prices because current  ryzen cpu prices were jacked up. Even if intel price it lower than amd, it still easy for amd to cut prices

I doubt AMD can cut prices much, they are after all a much smaller company than Intel. You also have to note that AMD has a huge chip shortage and I personally can't find a 5600x for less than 400 dollars. Intel however has its own factories and can make a lot more stock than AMD and also nvidia. If Intel has enough stock you will be able to buy an 11700k for the same price as a 5600x

@MHK what AMD does with their retail pricing is irrelevant, the real price is determined by supply and demand. And we all know the reality of that imbalance. The Intel parts will work out cheaper relative to the actual street prices of the very hard to get AMD stock. And you can bet you will be able to buy the Intel no problem, at their retail price. Yet again. Look at recent sales volume data. Blue has taken the numbers back from red, because they are available freely

"Likewise, the Ryzen 9 5900X comes in at US$50.99 under the Core i9-11900K, despite having two additional cores."

5900X has 4 additional cores.
