The leaker RODENT950 has made some heavy allusions to an image sensor which, despite being intended for mobile devices, is exactly 1 inch in size. This would make the alleged Sony IMX 800 unprecedentedly large for its category. It is predicted to launch in April 2021, and is touted to debut in the Huawei P50 flagship series.

Wow you people really don't pay attention? This is the 3rd or 4th time I said this on this site: Type 1" is not "1 inch" diagonal, it's about 2/3 that.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-CM1  from the 2014 was the first one  ;)
You're quite right, so it remains to be seen what's "mobile" about this sensor compared to the one in CM1.

Yep. It comes from VCTs (video camera tubes, counterpart to CRTs used in televisions and monitors). 1" sensor is equivalent to 1" tube. And 1" tube had photosensitive area about 16 mm diagonally in size.

The bigger the sensor, the bigger the optics. Inescapable relationship.

What about panasonic cm1 with 1inch sensor? Yes, this is not exactly smartphone, but have sim, can make calls, has snapdragon 801, you can browse in internet and make everything like with normal smartphone.
