The Xiaomi MIUI 12.5 update for eligible smartphones utilizing the Global ROM has been found to offer fewer features and lower system optimization figures than the MIUI 12.5 China ROM. One particular memory-related optimization has a shortfall of -13% for the Global ROM, leading some to call MIUI 12.5 Global a "lite" version of the Android overlay.

Maybe they're not fully ready enough for western standards and will be added later on?
If not, then it's a strange move from Xiaomi, especially now that it's starting to gain real traction in Europe.

Uhm...the overall CPU usage and optimisations are lost because of Google services? Ever thought of that?
Also some features can't be brought to Global because of many regulations that Xiaomi have to appeal to. Don't forget that in Europe MIUI comes with Google dialer and messaging app, being impossible to install the original MIUI ones.
Point is...to make a skin appeal to every country you sell in on a open source system like Android is not that easy. Apple gets away with it because iOS is closed and they got control over everything.

I can definitely attest regarding Google services. At the moment, I have the Exynos version of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 completely deGoogled and running Havoc-OS Android 10 custom ROM. Not only it has better performance than before, but also it has gained much better battery life. Even with the installation of microG, the performance and battery life still remains exactly the same.

That is why Xiaomi phones are super popular within the custom ROM community. In the long terms, MIUI with Google services does lose a lot of performance. With custom ROM installation, it feels like day one.
