The phrase "OLED Provided by Samsung" has been submitted as a trademark by the OEM in question with the European Union's Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). It has led to speculation that this move is part of the company's run-up to CES 2021. It may also simply serve to underpin its position in the relevant market.

Typo?

Many people might *NOT* be inclined to think Samsung when the term "OLED" (or organic LED) comes up in nearly any context.

I think, Samsung is currently the only manufacturer of OLEDs for Notebooks/Tablets, so it makes perfect sense (even more, if there will be another panel by any other manufacturer)

Since Samsung doesn't even make oled Tv's anymore & LG is the only company doing that, I don't see how consumers would only associate Samsung with the term oled 🤔
