The upcoming Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond requires a beefy rig to play, including an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080, an Intel Core i7-9700K, and at least 16 GB of RAM. However, the most insane spec needed to run the game is a minimum of 170 GB of SSD storage.

When video games system requirements are increasing, sometimes its hard to tell if its due to the "technological advancement" with its graphics which makes the need to increase the requirements to play the game, or just a p*** poor job in optimization by the game devs

Wow!

It still looks like PS 2 graphics but with extra lighting and shadows.

I would rather go back playing the much hated but beautiful graphics BFV over this thing.

Definitely a hell no.

Not the first time a game has driven hw changes.  Just put the drive into a removable caddy with front access if you are limited in bays.  PC gamers are not squeamish about upgrades as their less committed console bretheren.  It is how we keep the pfy's out.

Total nonsense. If a game requires a high end GPU as its minimum requirements? It has nothing to do with graphics and ore to do with p*** poor optimization. Hard pass on this game.

Honestly?
The storage is by far the cheapest component to the bunch. The gameplay videos I've seen looked really really good. (Remember, this is VR. Not 1080p60). VR gameplay will always look 300% worse on a flatscreen.

If the game lives up to these videos I have absolutely no problem spending 170gb. I would still love to see a more optimized version as an update, but for now it's okay.

As for the rest: sure, they are really high end specs. Just as every major vr game! And most vr  gamers will have that kind of hardware at hand. VR never was about gaming on a budget, was it.

It does not have to be a 2080. I have a 2070ti which performs really similar.

Also the RTX 3060ti should whoop this games a** aswell.

It seems to be more cpu bound anyways.. Would really like to see an official minimum spec amd CPU listed.
