Samsung Display has given us a glimpse into what it has in mind for future rollable smartphones. One design has a rollable OLED screen that wraps itself around a central cylinder. The other one builds upon the existing Galaxy Fold series' design by adding another hinge.

I still don't get the fascination with foldable screens phenomenon, the tech is not there yet .
You can still see still see creases and distracts from the display making it look cheap .
It's very expensive to buy this type of device.
So you pay a lot of money for a device with a  screen that looks damaged. Sounds pretty counter intuitive.

It has to start somewhere. The fact that they get it to people in these early stages helps to improve the device, find cheaper manufacturing methods. E.g. Samsung Fold 2 is nit that bad for what it is. You could say the same about very early touch phones, they were lagging, not super responsive with resistive touchscreen, bulky... and yet look where they are now. The same will go for foldable. people want to have phones with as large displys as possible, in small body, and thats exactly where foldables deliver...
