The 6.67 inch ZenFone 7 Pro replaces the budget flagship ZenFone 6 and, like its predecessor, features an innovative flip camera. The phone is equipped with 8 GB of RAM, 256 GB of storage and the Snapdragon 865+, one of the fastest smartphone SoCs around. Find out whether the ZenFone 7 Pro can still be considered a "budget" device in our review.

Yo

The Pro version is capable of WiFi 6e, because of the newer Plus version of the Snapdragon 865, while the standard Zenfone 7 has no 6Ghz WiFi support.

The core plus points (pros) for this phone are:
+ No notch or hole
+ Notification LED at the bottom
+ AptX Adaptive: get a compatible pair of AptX adaptive earphones (or speakers in future) and you won't hate Bluetooth so much as latency goes away
+ Wi-Fi 6E
+ Wide dimensions of 77 mm (I dislike very tall but less wide phones)
+ Has the largest 5G band support
+ Best selfie camera module

Low light performance with GCam (Night Sight, HDR+ Enhanced modes) should be awesome.

No 3.5mm jack is a con but at least you can use USB-C to 3.5mm adapter or AptX Adaptive. No video out via USB-C is another con for such an expensive phone.

Still, I think this is the best flagship of 2020 unless you are so obsessed about camera quality that you are ok with everything else being sub-par in a phone (almost all phones now have notches or holes, no notification LED, too tall and narrow form factor, no AptX Adaptive)

InsanityDaily

Only in the land of freebie phones from ASUS PR would anyone be calling a 700 quid phone "a budget phone". But at least you back pedalled after jumping the gun on the camera now you've become aware you assessed it before the big camera update. Don't worry it's been an Internet-wide mistake by all tech sites.
