A battery life test by Arun Maini of the YouTube channel Mrwhosetheboss found that the iPhone 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max had significant leads in battery runtimes compared to the newer iPhone 12 and 12 Pro. The iPhone 12 and 12 Pro have a 2,815 mAh battery, which is not only lower in terms of actual capacity than the previous generation but also powers larger and higher resolution displays leading to lower runtimes.

iPhone 12 4G

NOT with the Qualcomm-sourced third-gen Snapdragon X60 modem 5G-capable modem fabricated on a 5 nm node, released earlier this year, but with the second-gen superseded Snapdragon X55 fabricated on a 7 nm node, that costs up to 20% battery life.

& ONLY with a 2,815 mAh physical battery size, reduced size to make room for the added 5G components.

Lulzi

Failed in comparison with the 11 Pro (Max) only.

They are still better than the normal 11 and XR which were praised for their great battery life but were bulky and heavy with almost 200g. Not to mention the still popular SE/8/7 iPhones with their tiny 1820/1960mAh batteries! As long I don't need silly 5G and keep that deactivated in the settings, to run on LTE only, I should be perfectly fine, right?

What your test results don't show is the iPhone 12 is running a new iOS and that usually has battery impacts that improve after updates.  So wait a few releases and do it again I bet they are better.

LOL

What a silly article, please compare Pro iPhones with Pro iPhones, and non-Pro iPhones with non-Pro iPhones.

Saying the iPhone 12's battery life is poorer than iPhone 11 Pro is meaningless.

iPhone 12's battery life is much better than iPhone 11, end of story.

The Pro iPhones don't matter, because they'll most likely be discontinued after one year. They're an overkill and only people with money to burn will buy them.
