A short video clip of the alleged PlayStation 5 boot screen and user interface (UI) has surfaced that appears to involve a devkit rather than a retail model of the PS5. The video shows a black DualSense controller being used to presumably start up the console, and then the boot screen and UI eventually appear on a monitor.

Seems even a bit slower than a PS4 pro with a SSD [at least mine].
Anyways, who cares about that? it's asleep 99% of the time...

Much more important is the ability to have multiple games running side by side [one, as in the PS4, is just useless]. Also, in games loadings are far more important.

If Sony would put all of their "chips" on features we use often and totally neglect the boot time I'd be very happy. Then, for all I care, it can take 5 minutes.

Boo hoo. I'm a fan and I'm not in a tizzy, whatever that means. 20 whole seconds..Wow..You could do so much in 20 seconds. I'm going to cancel my pre order because Xbox starts up 10 seconds quicker. GOLL

First off, it's a dev kit, not necessarily a fill speced and featured system. Second, it's very possible that that's how long it takes the first boot. The first boot always takes the longest. The system then stores information to make subsequent boots much faster. There's absolutely no way it takes a system with an ultra fast custom SSD 20 seconds to boot, that just doesn't make sense.

Oh nooooo not 20 seconds! People need to chill. Even if this is the actual retail boot up... It's not a big deal. And that's coming from an xbox fan boy.

It's 20 seconds to boot, not 20 mins. I am not sure what is all these negativity about. Slow down folks, what is 20 seconds when the current gen takes significantly longer to boot.

Please just stop it already. If you care this much about something like boot times, which you will see once a day or less, then you've got issues. Want to talk about boot times? PC gamers of the 80s and 90s has to wait 20 minutes or more for a system to load up, a game install could take multiple days if something went wrong, etc. This instant gratification era...my god.
