UGREEN USB C 9-in-1 Multiport Docking Station hands-on review

To own an ultrabook is to own a PC that can go more places and do more things these days; however, it also entails the risk of losing more ports into the bargain. UGREEN offers hub-type products that seek to reinstate them through the medium of one USB type C port. Can this variant restore up to six different types of I/O to the light and portable notebook category?

Dear Deirdre,
thank your for this detailed review.

Please peel off the plastic cover from your USB power meter.

Sincerely,
Everyone

Thanks for the review.  I have a similar dock which I use with my Huawei P30.  Everything seems to work with one exception.  When plugging an external monitor directly to my phone USB-C port, there is the option of displaying a desktop interface.  With a BT mouse and keyboard, I can use my phone like a desktop.  But this feature distorted the display when using my dock.  If it works, I can plug in other peripherals to the port and have a   adhoc desktop using my phone.  Can Ugreen do this?

"...plugging in via this port resulted in no similar joy."

"...a slight disappointment that the VGA seemed not to work out..."

Thanks for the review. I'm currently on the hunt for a hub with VGA. (I'm surrounded by retro tech.)

I'm confused. Did the VGA not work at all? Or are you saying that it did work, but was subpar compared to the other standards?

Rodolfo

Did you need to install drivers ? I bought one but HMDI isn't working... neither VGA...

Another senseless Chinese garbage - a trap for the poor and incompetent buyer, of which there are crowds on AliExpress. There is a lot of water in the review, but little technical data ..
