The Ryzen 5 4600U-powered Envy costs hundreds of dollars less than the Core i7-1065G7 Spectre and yet it is able to run longer and faster while being just as thin and light. Maybe it's time for HP to add the same Ryzen options for its flagship Spectre series.

Another example of manufacturers peering the best CPU's with sub par equipment and peering sub par CPUs with best equipment. This is the year we see mid tier laptops destroying high end laptops in performance and battery because of the cult of Intel. When can we have the best peered together, CPU,Screen, Case, Ports, GPU? Give consumers what they want and stop being so behind the times.

So the Intel version has a near 20% larger battery, costs more and still performs only as good and sometimes worse, even in battery life? (realistic use)
Also why does Intel get such a suuuper beefy cooling solution and AMD not :-)

But I guess that cooling really is not worth the 550€ more for the Intel version.

Wait, when you wrote the Envy has Thunderbolt 3 as an option... Do you mean the AMD Envy? Can you pair the AMD Envy with Thunderbolt 3?!

To be fair the Spectre launched early 4th quarter of last year and the Envy just became available in June.  We should see a new Spectre with Tiger lake in a couple of months.  That will likely shift most of these number back to Intel except for multicore performance.

That being said, it will still cost a lot more and the performance difference may not justify the cost.  I am considering picking up the Envy.

I want to see this comparison, but with an i5. Not because NoT fAiR or whatever, but I want to see the performance difference of an i5 and an i7 with the same core count with ice lake.
