New reports indicate that TSMC has officially started producing 5 nm chips and is expected to deliver the Qualcomm Snapdragon 875 and the Snapdragon X60 modem by September. Apart from Qualcomm and Apple, AMD has also proposed awarding TSMC
a contract for producing more than 20,000 wafers a month for a high-end 5 nm GPU.

Random Bystander

As far as I can tell, the primary source is //money.udn.com/money/story/5612/4651237 (also in Chinese) — the linked source in Chinese references another website, which then just vaguely references "somebody".

Reading that, it's also clear that things got lost in the game of telephone: it's 6,000 additional wafers compared to the previous month, to close to 60,000 wafers a month.  HiSilicon orders were stopped as of May 15 due to the export ban, and they're expected to be done within the 120 day grace period since the export ban.  The leftover volume is expected to be mostly taken up by AMD at 20,000 wafers/month.  Qualcomm is expected to also be after that capacity.
