The Odroid-H2 Plus is a new alternative to the Raspberry Pi. The single-board computer is well suited for different applications thank to its powerful processor. The single-board computer is already available for pre-order.

Do people actually consider alternatives? The support for rpi is so huge, how can one even think of alternatives even?

Peter M.

@Jacques:

Sure, some people do. The Odroid H2+ is not limited to a small number of custom-compiled OSes but can run off-the-shelf x86_64 Windows 10, Ubuntu, and, unofficially, a few other standard distros (albeit with some tweaking possibly required). It's roughly twice as powerful as the Raspberry Pi 4 Model B and it runs cooler. You pay a price premium for those advantages, and community support is obviously not remotely as broad and deep as the Pi's, but for some people it could be a midway compromise between a RPi4 (~$75 for 8GB) and an Intel NUC or AMD Mini PC (more like $500 and up). Anyway, that's the niche I place it in.
