While the manufacturer delivers good devices in the high-end segment with the EliteBook or the ProBook, there are currently hardly any arguments in favor of an HP notebook in the lower price segments. The office laptop HP 15s-fq1440ng in our test is an example of this, as is the new HP 14s.

Oh, that is no surprise. HP at the low end is one of the worst junk. All the low end HPs I've owned fried in 1 year after warranty went out. My zbook though has been the best laptop I've owned. Unfortunately they are expensive.

Though personally I don't get why HP divides things up into probook, elitebook and zbook. It feels like a half assed stepping ladder.

Entirely agreed. It's a false economy. They go out of their way to design and make low quality devices. Even at the very top end, the models don't quite get everything right. Then if you look on the second market of all these products, people can't even give them away. There is an oversupply of top end models and yet they keep churning out consumer grade products.
