Do you really have to pay a four-digit sum to get a decent notebook? We compare Apple's new 2020 MacBook Air with the Honor MagicBook 14, which retails for 600 Euros. Is the entry-level MacBook really worth twice the price for your daily workloads?

"In addition to gray and silver, the Apple is also available in gold, which will attract more female customers."

Really?

Yup, agreed that it's up to debate. However since it's just an opinion, the score was about the material construction of the notebook, thus it can be easily put aside.

Nevertheless, it's pretty objective comparison, good work. Wish more content like this.

I once loved the triangle between Thinkpad vs. Latitude vs. Elitebook. Some try to fit, like Tecra, Travelmate, or Asuspro, but they were rarely in the game.

For half the price of the Apple product, you get a much slicker machine. I'm a professional photographer and the Honor is a much more capable machine; it can run Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom with ease. AMD crushes Intel here, but you have to question why Apple are so incredibly mean with their base specification. In essence, you're just paying for the badge. Get the Magicbook - it really is a no brainer.

Matte coatings don't affect the color the screen produces in any way at all.  All laptops should have matte screens.  Glossy screens limit the usability of laptops.   Nobody can work with bad indoor reflections or use a glossy screen outdoors.

Gold equals the girl's color?  Grow up man.

I agree apple products are over priced.

Whether or not they're inferior I actually prefer glossy screens.

And yes. Gold and rose gold appeal more to women than men, typically. I literally just bought my gf a rose gold macbook at her request.

All fingers and thumbs

I have both arriving this week. Performance doesn't matter to me so it'll probably be air for the keyboard and trackpad.

But I'm more keen on trying the Magicbook as it's not Apple and better value for money (imho).

Hey, Just got a couple of great Mac apps.
Focus on getting work done, recover lost data, get started with video editing,
They won't cost more than is listed on this site: appsbundle.co

in addition to a great article we get a free sexist comment strait from the 80s!

you forgot about the donny trumpy? I'm sure he gets the gold. And he's as machist as it gets.

Honor is good, but for the same price of Honor you will find 4-6 times the CPU power of MBA on Ryzen 4000 laptops, like:
Lenovo Yoga 14s (Slim 7) with 4800U,
Lenovo S540 13, ideapad 5 14 & 15 with 4800U and 4600U
MECHREVO S2 air with 4800H @~1.13kg weight,
Acer, hp, asus...with 4700U.
