Since the launch of the Galaxy S10 series a year ago, Samsung users have complained heavily over the slow unlocking speeds of the in-display fingerprint readers on their phones—including the S10, Note 10, and S20 series. Here's how to make things a tad faster.

Wow, the last point goes exactly opposite to my reader on the XPS 13 that isn't very reliable either. With mine, I realized that a light perpendicular press is the best, press it so that your finger covers as much of the reader as possible, don't tap and let go, and don't press hard enough that the print may slightly distort or expand, nor in a way that the finger turns, rolls, or slides. That's my best bet to get through Windows Hello before reaching the stupidly rigid 3 try limit and having to input my pin.

I have an S10+ here and tapping instead of pressing down does seem to open it faster. Other users have corroborated that, too.

The issue of course is if it's just a mental thing, since when you press down you actually find yourself waiting for the damn thing to respond. But when you tap, it feels faster, since you're not waiting.

Who knows?  ;D
