If you want AMD's latest CPU, it's going to cost you a bit more. Lenovo will be pricing its AMD Legion 5 gaming laptop at a starting price of $850 compared to $830 for the Intel version sporting 10th gen Comet Lake-H.

I think it's pretty obvious this is a successor to the Y540, not the Y740.

So single zone lighting (white only, on the Y540) and no TB3 are already expected.

Its clear they are gimping the amd version for no apparent reason.

Not producing amd 17'' and selling a bit higher

Even for the names they prefered to add i on Intel version to sound cooler (like cars and phones) instead of havening same name or adding the letter a for Amd version.

I guess this happens when the biggest seller of laptops makes a deal with Intel trying to stop Amd to get exposure and market share.

Ryzen version is totally useless with that GPU. Shame on Lenovo. Lenovo models are out of my interest if there is no Ryzen and 2060+ options.

there isnt benchmark for i9-10980H but difference with i9-9880H is only 100 MHz. 9880 was overheating, and performance dropped significantly after few minutes. Longer benchmark like Cinebench R20 multicore show it clearly:
AMD Ryzen 7 4800H = 4192
Intel Core i9-9880H = 3239.5
Intel Core i7-9750H = 2595
If difference is only 20$ then AMD >Intel. Intel should be atleast 100$ cheaper

Why the lower spec for the AMD, it's the better processor. All these manufacturers pairing AMD with low spec hardware are missing the market. Where's the AMD 240mhz screen, 20 series graphics.

Yes for me also, bye bye Lenovo, shame on you not to put a 2060-2070 with Ryzen, only useless gpus.
I think Intel had smth to say here, but we customers can go to other brands if Lenovo acts like this.
Hopefully Amd's 5600m and 5700m will soon come to laptops and than byebye 1650 1660 gpus...

btw guys, for what u need 20xx cards on 1920 x 1080 ?RTX is overshot it laptops . Textures on this resolution need max4k VRAM, so for budget gamers 1650TI is enough. On this resolution in DOOM eternal 1660ti run 150 fps. its 2,5x more then needed

5600, 5700? what happened with 5500? "launched" in october 2019. half a year has passed. appeared in macbooks, trash msi alpha and thats it.
and no launch dates for 5600/5700 still.
makes you think oems are not that evil, just amd management is retarded.

according to one of their CEO, 1660Ti/2060 on Ryzen models will be delayed to July as the boards are not ready yet.

In their newsroom website it is written upto R7 4800H and RTX 2060. It comes with upto 144HZ screen. I think we should wait and see.

It's not like that, Doom doesn't need good gpu, when uou buy smth you buy to use that laptop for min 2 years, so new games will come which will require more powerful gpu.
For example Shadow of tombrider or Witcher at 1920 ultra: 1650---33fps min and 54 avg. With 1660ti---60min and 75 fps avg.
Why to gave a gaming laptop if you don't have a min of 60-70 fps. And also if you have a refresh rate of 144 you need a gpu ti give you that frames in games. Otherwise is just useless.
