32-core (2x 16) Intel Ice Lake Server Geekbench benchmarks leak — 80% more performance than AMD Epyc Rome 7702P with half the cores?

Geekbench listings of what appears to be a 32-core (16-core dual-socket) Intel Ice Lake Server processor have surfaced. Ice Lake Server appears to put up a strong show against AMD's Epyc Rome 7702P in Geekbench 4 running on Windows Server 2019 with half the number of cores. AMD, however, has the core-count advantage, which still eludes Intel owing to lower yields on the 10nm process.

i will wait till ~100k geekbench 4 from intel.
amd is so far ahead its not even funny. 2019 chips are faster and more efficient than 2021 chips from competitor.

What a clickbait.

The results from Geekbench are fluctuacting for 7702P, ranging from 10k all the way up to whopping 150k points.

And they're all from Geekbench v4 (go search for the results by yourself).

Horrible article full of misinformation; I expected better from notebookcheck.

7702P - just like all P-series Epycs - is a single socket only part. The reason why it shows as dual socket is due to how current versions of Windows Server handle systems with more than 64 threads - each 64 threads get bundled into a Numa node and virtual socket. It only affects 48 and 64 core parts with SMT enabled.

You might want to do some proper research next time before posting click bait articles like this.

Google EPYC 7702P Geekbench and you get results well over 100K points.

Face facts EPYC 7702P is 200w single socket monster that Intel cannot compete with at all. Not In terms of performance, cost, core count or power consumption.

Intel need to be completely reinventive in the server market because right now AMD is crushing any competition

This article is horse sh*t. It is so far away from any real truth. Just check out this geekbench result and compare it to the so called ice-lake results:

If you can't open the link, let me tell you the results:
EPYC 7452, 1 processor, 32 cores, single core score: 4463, multi-core score: 43845

Intel ice lake 2 processors, 32 cores, single core score: 4507, multi-core score: 41522

yeah, right... intel is almost catching up.. :) but wait.. milan is coming and there are still no leaks for milan performance...
