After months of delays, Xiaomi is finally releasing the Android 10 update to owners of the Mi A2 Lite. The Android 10 rollout for the Mi A3 has been a proper shambles, however, so the company appears to be taking some precautions this time around.

This update entirely bricked my phone, and there's widespread reports of the same issue!

Hence why we advised people to wait.

On reading the news I checked and Android 10 was available for my Mi A2 Lite. That was over an hour ago. Everything went fine. I have restarted the phone twice and checked all the apps I usually use. There were a few updates available for some of the apps. I installed them all. I haven't found any failure or latency so far. I bought my phone a year and a half ago in one Xiaomi's shops in Madrid.

Good to hear.

My phone just died along with others. All of my data are gone. Going to sue Xiaomi for it. Wish me luck.

Can confirm another brick. Not mine, but I still have to deal with it, since it's a family member. Sigh. Xiaomi's quality control has become pathetic.

On the flip side, the brick can be supposedly recovered somewhat easily by switching to the previous boot slot via fastboot.
