Comet Lake-H will be another 14 nm refresh, not a move to 10 nm, and here's why

Talk about Intel Comet Lake-H, and confirmation of certain SKUs arriving by the end of March, has prompted speculation about what dies Intel will use for the successors to the Coffee Lake-H Refresh architecture. While some have speculated that Comet Lake-H will mark a move to Intel's 10 nm process, all signs point to it being another 14 nm refresh.

Wasn't Comet Lake everything set to be 14nm from quite a while back? There's no reason not to call it Tiger Lake H or at least Ice Lake H if they were 10nm parts.

That means AMD has some time to support USB 4.0/Thunderbolt 3 before Intel's 10nm H-series arrives. AMD can seize the gaming laptop and mobile workstation markets where battery life/power efficiency matters less than ultrabooks.
