The Tesla Cybertruck has been officially revealed, and while the all-electric vehicle has been specifically designed to protect the environment, it will certainly make some eyes sore. Elon Musk unveiled the Blade Runner-esque truck, which can withstand a 9 mm bullet being shot at the door but not a small steel ball gently thrown at the window.

Good to see though they make an effort to make it better. Maybe there will be more glass versions, like 1.shockproof,2.bulletproof

I'm pretty sure that they just forgot to put the "good" glass into the showcase vehicle.
Hopefully we get an answer sooner or later.

The thing about tampered glass is that it you can hit it all day and you won't see anything. Then it takes a minor hit and shatters.

That is because tampered glass develops micro-fractures as it is damaged that can't be seen with the human eye. And as they build up, the glass shatters. I wouldn't be surprised if they abused the glass prior to the demo then it happened to shatter when they were there.

Personally, I had a tampered glass table explode on me randomly out of nowhere, luckily no one was there but after that I subconsciously stayed away from all glass for quite a while.

PS There is no paint, its the color of stainless steel

weeeeeeeeeeee

yes, yes, funny story, but It's annoying that every news site is focusing on broken "unbreakable" glass.  I don't think glass in a car is supposed to be "unbreakable" because you'd want it to break in case you get trapped inside in an emergency.  Plus, these annoying privacy policy and cookie popups are annoying when you have to keep clicking on the preferences every day to read this site.
