According to a Bloomberg report, Apple is planning on releasing its rumored AR glasses sometime in 2020. The glasses, while still in development, may eventually become a replacement product of the iPhone. However, a lot of work remains to be done, including the development of a "killer application."

Most everyone I know uses their phones for GPS while driving.
AR glasses would promote road awareness because the driver would not occasionally glance away from the road to look at the phone display.

Wether standalone or bluetooth tethered to a phone, AR glasses would disrupt paid proprietary vehicle GPS subscriptions.
