The Google Pixel 4 phones are just about a week away from their official launch event. A new leak has revealed some previously unknown details about the phones and a particular specification of the smaller Pixel 4 may just leave fans seething.

Curious as to why you believe the battery size on the new Pixel 4 will be underpowered? Have you received an advance copy and have completed testing?  Just curious.  Thanks.

It's pretty simple - 90 Hz screen consumes much more battery. Not just the screen but the GPU works 50% more than when paired with 60 Hz screen.
If Google put some new magical ultra low power screen and a low power GPU then there would be a chance for a good battery life. But the screen tech is still where it is and this is the same S855 GPU as every other phone.
So, there's NO WAY the battery life will not be terrible.

Not sure why you have ignored the "up to" proceeding the 90 hz.. first off we already know the 90 hz can be toggled.. but let's focus on it just the same lol to those who want a smoother screen they have the option.. to those that want better battery they too have the option..

And comparing the 3a to the pixel 4 anything is just plain hackery

As long as Google prices the 4 below the iPhone 11 and the xl around or slightly higher than the 11 this would be ok. But max 128gb with no SD card for a phone that could potentially cost $1000 is bs.

SD855+'s higher clocks are achieved through binning, so they're essentially better binned SD855, in other words in no way is regular 855 better than 855+ since they're made based on the same design only the regular version is picked out to be clocked lower due to more manufacturing defects lowering power efficiency(or the 855+ picked out to be clocked higher, whichever way you look at it).

Why is it "hackery?" They will both be available on the market at the same time. Or people may be considering upgrading. Heck, people could reasonably be doing a cost benefit analysis of Pixel 4 vs a free Pixel 1 and a standalone camera. We're so far inhibited by review sites restricted to comparing "like for like," with pictures of results. The only sites that go past that is storagereview and sites like cpubenchmark, which have database of metrics so they can be compared between any devices.  For nearly every other site, we might as well be reading PC Magazine (the glossy paper version) in 1986 for all the evolution the Web has provided.

I will say notebookcheck is exceptional in their consistency of review features, and providing a database for comparison. It's unfortunately the users who are limited in what they ask for.
