Slim aluminum. Yet another offshoot of Asus' Zenbook product line is to particularly attract quality-conscious customers who also value high mobility. An energy saving Haswell CPU alongside its integrated graphics, paired with a high-capacity battery, and an ultra-thin aluminum casing - is that enough for a new record in terms of endurance and battery runtime?

Why such a huge difference in battery life between the UX32LA and UX32LN? Was Optimus not working properly on the LN?

Josh

The laptop will still drain more battery as it the nivida chip is in idle mode which still takes up power. Also the LN model uses a full HD which takes up more power.

Firstly, NotebookCheck's UX32LN came with a SSD as well, so the part about a HDD is not true. The max power draw difference between the two is about 20%, with the rest showing a similar difference. There should be no reason for such a big difference in battery runtimes in Wifi surfing, unless something has gone wrong and the computer is using a much higher thermal envelope than needed.
