Windows for your handbag. Is there a small, 8-inch tablet complete with Windows 8.1, a solid IPS panel and a full version of Microsoft Office 2013 Home & Students for 300 Euros, you ask? Yes! The Lenovo Miix 2 fulfills all these wishes and then some. We tested it extensively to see what all it's fit to do.

Thanks for the review,  I would also add-  external monitor connectivity is possible using miracast with a miracast enabled monitor. Some new sets offer this ability.  For those who do not ave a miracast enabled HDTV set, dongles are available for USB or HDMI connections for s little as $60 USD.

Most wanted review as I'm waiting for delivery of this from US! Great product, only microHDMI missing.

This dude sounds like a serious Windows hater, Lenovo hater, or both.

Light correction on USB: I've powered Miix2 thru the hama USB hub with 5Vext. power  over OTG cable. It worked fine - data transfer and charging.

am new to tablets.  Just received this today...it is charging.  right off the bat -- THERE ARE NO ENCLISH INSTRUCTIONS included.  we shall see....

Peripherals can be connected , while charging! Use a hub and connect as many devices you like. Connect charge cable as if it were a peripheral device! Simple as that!

Been using it 6 months now as an alternative to laptop when business travelling and for general use. Very reliable. Above comments valid about how to get around so-called shortages. Very stable and reliable.I am using a MS bluetooth keybaoard, VG.

Hi

Ive been using this device now for few days and theres nothing, seriously nothing i dont like. Connectivity issues can be solved easily with OTG adapter and the battery lasts very long even under heavy use. Ive been searching a decent tablet now over a 2 years and nothing had surprised me yet, im not getting along with android so that closes many doors at tablet markets for me. I bought this tablet from a local electronics dealer which gave me a very good offer i couldnt pass, 159 euros. Can you imagine a tablet with decent hardware and full windows 8.1 with office for 159 euros, i couldnt either. My tablet budget has been under 300 euros all the 2 years and now i got it under 200 euros, that really satisfies me.

So to the review, the display is good, bright and feels nice under my fingers. Its not too slippery like my phones screen is (lumia 1520). Only the resolution could be better but this 1280x800 still satisfies me. 64gb internal storage is also enough for my needs but if you need more you can easily extend the storage with micro sd card up to 128gb. Also the tablet is very very thin which makes it feel comfortable in hands. Tablets processor handles daily tasks like surfing, email, reading and office usage pretty good and doesnt seem to "lag" much, I added the flash block on my internet browser cause flash content makes everything lag nowadays. I have not tested it yet with benchmarks but gonna do it as soon as i get time from my job and hobbies, review is pretty short but if your considering between android tablet, windows rt tablet or this i would gladly give this one a go, and if you have been considering this one i would just say BUY IT. After I bought it, i was pretty optimistic about it for few days and I didnt open the package so i could have returned it, after few days of searching online about it I opened it and i havent regret that decision.

Pros
+ Quality for this price is good
+ Battery lasts pretty nicely
+ Screen feels good
+ FULL WINDOWS 8.1 WITH OFFICE
+ Hardware handles daily task without a problem.

Cons
- Connectivity (only micro usb charging slot but can be extended with adapters or wireless devices)
- GPU could be better BUT its good with this price
- Hard to find bluetooth keyboard cases (have found only few different)
- Theres no SIM card support so it explains the price a bit but you can always use internet sharing from your smartphone (everyone has smartphone nowadays right?)

So feel free to give me feedback about this short review. I also would be happy to answer all questions you people out there might have!

I am trying to figure out how long it takes to fully charge this beast of a tablet from a totally discharged state. mine takes me about 3 hours and some minutes . Is that number same for other. Have had this tab for a week that I have totally forgotten about my 5 years old laptop :)

Charging my beast from zero to full tooks about 3 hours also, its a bit slow imho but does not bother me at all. It is a long time compared to my lumia 1520 3400mAh battery (takes only less than one hour to charge it from zero to full).

great to know. it's had a solid performance all round and am impressed with it
