No numpad so some content creation programs with numpad keys need to be changed.
Limited power RTX3060 means not much useful for rendering - encoding.
Dim OLED with reflective panel.

Should be okay to work with Photoshop, illustrator or equivalents in an office- not near windows -, but not for video editing and 3D content creation.

Quoteheavy even for a 16-inch form factor
It is very light compared to competitors (and this is its problem). L5Pro weighs much more.

Quotelimited CPU Turbo Boost potential
And that's not true. HP simply set the reference value of PL2, as recommended by Intel in the specifications for this processor. At the same time, PL1 is overestimated by 10W relative to the recommended level 45W.

QuoteOLED option limited to 60 Hz
This is also not particularly important, because. better response time on level less than fake "300Hz" IPS panels. A 60Hz circuit is enough for most non-professional players. If it seems to someone a little, if there is not a fake HDMI 2.1, it is easy to connect any monitor with Adaptive Sync (VRR) up to 4k@120Hz with HDR.

Quoteloud fan noise under load
And here the HP engineers disgraced themselves completely, which is very striking. Just the other day there was a review of the new Thinkpad, where the consumption is exactly the same in Maximum Idle, but there is 25 dB noise, and here it's a shameful 30 ... It's time for HP engineers to make of sepuka..

In general, everything sucks as usual with HP, instead of putting 120Hz@4k IPS, they put a flickering and glossy AMOLED. Moreover, judging by the lack of calibration data with dE <2, it did not pass the calibration test, like most AMOLEDs. Ports are mockingly suitable only for lefties, and they are a minority on the planet. No 2.5GB RJ45, that's ridiculous in a "gaming" laptop. Or what is it? It is definitely not suitable for working with color, since it could not pass the hardware calibration at an acceptable level.

Well, the poor stripped-down version of the keyboard from 14 "models completes the picture. Not suitable for either games or professional work (although with a glaring and disgustingly flickering screen and noise - well, what kind of work can there be?). Memory tuning, as usual, is bad in the BIOS. 12700 there are also not enough stars from the sky, although everything is fair in terms of limits. Even his wi-fi is lousy, despite the lack of RJ45 ... well, how is it possible ...

No results for CBR23 in sustained mode for 5800/12700.
Но в CBR15 in sustained mode 5800 only 2070 for L5Pro with 5800H and 2300+ for 12700H. Intel fastest today.

One thing that is not mentioned in the article, and was very disappointing for me, unfortunately after my purchase:
However the Envy 16 has a 4K touchscreen, it is not possible to work on the screen with an active pen.
Being a creator, this is is a real disadvantage of the Envy 16. Even on less powerfull and less advanced laptops an active pen can be used...

20100

And again, pwm screen..I know this is the case for oled panels, anyway I won't consider any laptop which use pwm to dim its screen, no matter the specs. Manufacturers should really work on that.
Many thanks to notebookcheck for mentioning this on each review, much appreciated.
