Hi all from Italy!
I really liked this article and basically agree on everything.
I use this laptop for work and it's brand new. It's not bad at all, but:
1) there is no LED telling you if BlocNum is on, and the same for block of capital letters...how you call it...
2) again, no LED telling you when HDD is working.
3) on/off button is exactly like other buttons, and it's located very near to the END button. I would protect it a little.

and then the good: It is very silent (also for that reason I would need a LED for HDD...) and the touchpad is pretty big.
if you use it just for work and some video it's a very nice laptop.

bye!

Thank you for your reporting. I was searhcing the specks that you wrote.(1) there is no LED telling you if BlocNum is on, and the same for block of capital letters...how you call it...)

I got this Laptop for my Nephew, and it worked for almost a year with little issue and quite well.  About a couple day's before the Warranty ran out, it started glitching and stopped booting.   It has been a hassle getting it fixed, and 2 months later, still trying.   Sent is in twice, both times returned with the same issue.

While the computer itself is decent, the support behind it is spotty at best, and if anything goes wrong, do not expect a quick fix unless you are willing to pay for it yourself.

I bought this laptop from dubai.. specs seemed pretty decent . But trust me guys , the problem starts after a couple of weeks . The system gets SUPER laggy , and I have to wait for like 10 mins b4 it responds to a simple task manager start up and it hangs again after which I directly switch it off and restart.  Been doing this quite frequently now and im VERY frustrated bout it . EXTREMELY SLOW AND INCAPABLE MACHINE. the graphics card (920m) sucks big time.. so does the ddr3l 4gb ram.. this combination of horrible hardware took me 48 hours to render a simple 16 second intro video in after effects and blender. The display , keyboard and viewing angles r fine but im COMPLETELY unhappy with the processing speed and how it hangs VERY often. Very weak processor (i5 5200 u) and a very weak graphics card. Id never buy this again if I had the chance. Please go for MSI , dell or HP .. they r EXCELLENT laptops..

I really liked your article about Acer Aspire e5-573g.. very informative about everything.

I have the e5-573g-59f9 model (with same specs at a lower price 450$ but with only 4gb ddr3l 800mhz and nvidia g920m graphics)... And I was wandering if I could upgrade my ram memory up to dual channel 2x8gb ddr3 and 1600mhz. Will this laptop support this?

I believe that this article is out of date or for the wrong device. Currently, according to the Acer webpage, it now has the following: Windows 10 Home,
Intel® Core™ i5-5200U Processor 2.2GHz, 15.6" HD (1920 x 1080) 16:9, 8 GB DDR3L, 1 TB 5400RPM SATA HDD Hard Drive, and NVIDIA® GeForce® 940M with 4 GB of DDR3 VRAM.

Yes, from what I've seen here, Acer Aspire E5-573G comes with these high level specs: Intel Core i5-5200U Processor 2.2GHz with Turbo Boost Technology up to 2.7GHz, Windows 10, 15.6" Full HD Widescreen Comfy View LED-backlit Display, NVIDIA GeForce 940M with 2GB of dedicated DDR3 VRAM, 8GB DDR3L Memory, 1TB SATA Hard Drive (5400RPM), Secure Digital (SD) card reader, 802.11ac Wi-Fi featuring MU-MIMO technology, Bluetooth 4.0, Gigabit Ethernet, Built-In Webcam, 3 - USB 3.0 Ports, 1 - USB 2.0 Port, 1 - HDMI Port, 4-cell Li-ion Battery (2500 mAh), Up to 5-hours Battery Life, 5.29 lbs. | 2.4 kg.

Bought a cheaper version of this with Pentium processor for a secondary computer/media player.

Maintenance hatches or not. Actually I like the way the battery is build.
The average user may think it's a disadvantage but I don't. When battery needs replacement otherwise you'd have to buy a very expensive replacement battery or a cheap noname which doesn't last long (in more ways). With those cells inside I tech sawy nerd with a soldering iron (like me) can easily buy 4 x 18650 cells of a quality brand name with 50% higher capacity than those delivered for a fraction of the price of a finished battery pack and rebuild the battery pack. It's just wrapped in shrink wrap so it's easy to rebuild.
If using a "user" replaceable pack it would be very hard to rebuild the pack as they're typically "glue welded" together and just about impossible to put back together in a way so it'll fit properly as taking it apart pretty much ruind the plastic. (though sometimes from my work I find new original batteries but of course I don't have a laptop for them - I harvest the quality cells for use in USB power banks etc.)

Very nice for the price. About the screen I actually think it has a great screen (again for the price). Wonder if it has got a better screen than this. It's matte FullHD and colors seem rich and clear. Viewing angle could be better but they we're talking about one of the cheapest machines (on January sale) with a real SSD (Kingston 128 GB not the fastest but way faster then HDD or eMMC) and 6 GB of ram.You can get cheaper machine but they're not that much cheaper even on sale but lesser processor, crappy slow 32 GB eMMC and 2 gb ram.

All-rounder. Acer treats its brand new all-rounder a powerful mid-range CPU and a gaming-suitable GPU. The battery life are basically satisfactory, but was better in the former model.
