4 or 8 Gig memory, 64, 128, 256 or 512 GB SSDs, 2160x1440, 12" display.  No LTE or Thunderbolt.
Do you really think 3G connectivity would be enough for your specs or would you just like to get those specs without LTE and Thunderbolt to keep the price within reasonable limits?

Last time i visit notebookchecks because of the BS clickbait
I am sorry to hear that. Wasn't "alleged" explicit enough to show that these are not the final specs and all could be just another rumor?

Ever thought about 2X512 GB SSDs? I am sure Microsoft will find an interesting approach to 1 TB of storage on the Surface Pro.

I must somehow agree regarding the processor and most of the other specs, but maybe a "Surface 2.1" or something similar will be launched instead of this one next month.

Anyway, remains to be seen what will be announced by Microsoft for this summer concerning a refresh to the Surface Pro.

P.S. As I mentioned in the article as well - this is a rumor and it should be treated accordingly for now. It's good to see it starting a conversation, anyway. ;)
P.S. 2 What would YOU like to get from the next Surface Pro tablet?

Bogus spec claims here and everyone familiar with the Surface Pro knows it. 1tb SSD is never going to happen. The resolution is stupid. Keep it at 1080p so the GPU can push the pixels at good framerates without scaling artifacts from running things at 1080p on a 2560x1440 display. Skylake ain't gonna happen. 12.9 inch display could house a bigger battery but I doubt this will happen either. Almost nothing here will happen!!

This just sounds like a 12 year was making a wish...

1TB storage is quite possible. Even now you can get that capacity with an mSATA SSD (eg. Samsung 840 EVO mSATA 1TB).

The rest of the specs seem a little far fetched though. =D

This is far beyond even pie in the sky dreaming. Skylake isn't coming any time soon, Broadwell may not even be shipping by June or July I haven't kept up with it terribly. The screen is absurd and calling it Retina IPS is just irritating. 1 TB internal storage isn't going to happen, they're not going to switch from SSD to HDD storage. Absolutely nothing about this rumor sounds even remotely legitimate.

Considering Broadwell is not even out yet, I'd like to know how they intend to announce a tablet with a cpu of the generation planned for 2015-2016. Unless they announce it and make everyone wait for 1-2 years?

Microsoft's upcoming tablet could feature as much as 16 GB of DDR4 memory next to a Core i7 Skylake processor with Iris Pro graphics, 1 TB of storage and Thunderbolt 2 connectivity.
