if you use browser which forces vp9 (whitch doesnt have hw decoding), then the power drain is higher than in case power efficient h264 decoding.

Got E7440 with i5 processor, 256 SSD, 8G RAM. The keyboard is indeed flexi. A bit funky at the hinge. I could feel some friction that should not be there. But the deal breaker is that when I'm running latex with youtube on, the battery only lasts 2.5 hrs! And the left part of the keyboard is getting hot. At this price I could have got Macbook pro 13'... This will go back sadly.

The Latitude E7440 is smaller than the giant Dell beasts of yore, but it's barely an "Ultrabook". The lack of Bluetooth is dissapointing. If Apple can shove Bluetooth as standard equipment on a $1000 USD MacBook Air, surely Dell can make it standard on its laptops. And Dell's port replicator is incompatible with the E7440. Dell sells a spacer to make the fit better. This is the kind of laptop your company forces on one you.

I have been playing with both 256GB ssd and 500GB installed. The OS is sitting on the hdd instead of the ssd.  I will see to that later when i will do a clean install of win 8.1 on the ssd.   Performancewise its not too bad but after those excellent keyboard on 6x30 series, they keyboard deck on E7440 feels a little flexi.  I suppose its a price to pay to have something so thin and light.  The FHD touchscreen is brilliant.  I wonder whether a matte screen protector can help alleviate them reflections on the glass.  I am still undecided whether you make it my daily driver instead of the sturdier e6430.

Hi,

Why authors of the review don't want to publish full review update with new scores. I'm sure that FHD, more RAM, 256 SSD and bigger battery will make a huge difference and the overall score will be even better than in T440s. Why is there no update?

 >:( You need to be clear on the warranty - it is very limited.  It doesn't cover wear and tear on the hinges.. which are a fundamental part of a laptop.  The left  hinge is loose which lifts up the key board and makes the charging connection insecure.  My laptop is less than one year old and Dell say - that this sort of issue is normal and they don't cover it.  I have now researched this on-line and discovered that there a loads of customers like me with new Dell laptops that have this issue.  I would not buy another Dell. It doesn't matter what it can do, if it stops being useable after a few months of purchase and Dell wont fix it.

Why is your temperature rating only 84%?  A max temp of only 27.3 degrees C under max load?  What more could you want?

Thanks for review!
Questions: "matte FHD" means exactly matte or anti-glare display?
And is there only IPS version or it can be TN FHD version as well?
This computer have Bluetooth built on ????
