I bought this device in '12 the month it came out. I have had nothing but problems with it. I own 5 different devices and do all of my own tech work and repairs, but this device, after updating the OS to 8 then 8.1, adding a SSD, updating all of the Lenovo drivers constantly, etc, etc, it is STILL the most unreliable device I have had in years. Perhaps mine is just a lemon, but it's one problem after another. Icons disappear. The screen orientation has a life of its own. Bluetooth never works consistently. The mouse pad is inconsistent at best. Packed with bloatware. I will never buy another Lenovo.
Interesting--thanks for the heads-up! I will be sure to note this in future reviews.
Glad you like our reviews. We put a ton of time and effort into each one, and I personally have long relied on our site for my primary source of notebook quality assessments--long before I ever became an editor here!
Happy Holidays/Merry Christmas, and thanks for reading!
As one of the audio production geeks who cares about DPC latency--it's worth noting that DPC Latency Checker does not accurately reflect DPC latency on Windows 8 and behaves as if there is an additional 1ms lag--see http://www.thesycon.de/deu/latency_check.shtml
That said I appreciate how your site actually DOES show DPC latency info. I hope Thesycon updates their tool soon.
Windows 8 with a twist. Lenovo’s unique ThinkPad Twist adopts the x-series’ design of a swivel-mounted screen alongside all the obligatory ThinkPad traits. But can it fulfill its intended role as a practical next-gen alternative to a conventional business notebook?
