It is a device which appears to tick many boxes at the price level - ereader, decent size screen, well built, Skype facility and internet. Can't see the IPad does so much more - especially at three times the price and just as locked-in - even if it has more apps currenrly. If I have IPad money, I'll go off and buy a new laptop, which I need, rather than an expensive toy. The issue is - does the Kindle Fire tick sufficient bozes at this price level for a person who does make Amazon purchases? It seems it does.
