addition:
- the mentioned ux21a got a rating of 87% in its review. it has got an matte ips display with better resolution and a higher contrast ratio. apples air 11 got only 76% in our display subrating.
- with the ux21 we measured an average temerature of 29.4-29.6 (idle, °C) and 36.3-36.4 under load (stresstest). the air 11 i7 got 27.4-28.1 (idle) and 39.9-40.9 (load, stresstest bootcamp windows!). please note that the room temparature when testeing the air 11 was at 23.5 °C in contrast to 21.6 °C with the ux21. yes, we monitiored throttling in our stresstest with the air 11, but this is done under bootcamp windows. we could not see any throttling under macos. furthermore the temperature under macos (load mix) was at a lower level than under bootcamp windows. as the use with mac os is the main-scenario for the user, the air 11 i7 got a temperature subrating of 84%.

hi guys,

looks like I have to point out that this review is just an update of the air 11 2013 i5-version. as they got similar displays, please check out this review for comprehensive display measurement:

Even the Nvidia GT 720M beats the HD Graphics 5000. ¡Great work Intel!

This is extremely biased! It got better temperature score than the asus you linked as its competetor, and the asus is cooler and does not do EXTREME throtteling..

There is no display test at all, and it only scores 1% lower than the FHD IPS asus offers..

It seems to be you have left out all the areas where it was just slightly bad.. but you included the throtteling part.. I dont get it at all...

but you just lost all credibility, and I will stop using this site now..

Considering that the other notebookcheck reviews also measure heavy load battery life, this review is either heavily biased or just poor.

Tough choice. You want to buy one of the new MacBook Air's? Good, so you have already made your decision. But some agonizing questions remain: i5 CPU or the more powerful i7 chip? 128 GB SSD or even the 256 GB drive? Our review should give you some assistance.
