We bought Asus Fonepad 7 last month in PCExpress Market Market Taguig City and after 3 weeks it was totally dead. The battery fast drained and after I charge it the plug in indicator appear but not charging. I ask PC Express to check the problem but they offer to replace it with new one even though it was already out of replacement warranty I am glad with their fast action but when I check the item it is entirely different from what I bought they are trying to convince me that it is HD or 1280x900p display but obviously It was not HD this act is clearly a fraud. so I decided to sent it to Asus service center to change the battery but the problem still occurs after an hour. I just want to know if this item is for recall? I want a refund because its not fare to wait for their response or resolution with this problem.

Nice review. In some markets, though, the Fonepad does have a rear camera. You might want to point that out.

"The back is also completely made of plastic." The back of the FonePad is ,made of Aluminium, NOT Plastic as stated in this review.
As a user of a FonePad I can say my charging times are much shorter than stated here, and it also runs longer, so many variables are not considered such as outdoor mode, power-saving settings, GPS etc.
Also why compare with the Nexus 7 as if it's made by some other "American corporation", Nexus 7 is also made by Asus and screen is the same as the FonePad! Also some versions (depending on country) have a 3MP cam on the back, like mine from Holland.

When you say casing is good, can you give a close up picture of the back. Mine is not as rigid at bottom as you say. Near the phone usb charging and headphone charging area

Like a brick on your ear. Samsung's Note kicked off the ongoing wave of large smartphones, aka phablets. Now, Asus joins in with its big 7 inch Fonepad, nominally a tablet to make phone calls. It will definitely attract attention when held to an ear - at least at present.
