Max Payne 3 Benchmarked
« am: Juni 12, 2012, 07:46:44 »
Lord of Bullet Time. After a perceived eternity, Max Payne returns to our home computer screens.  The third part was not developed by Remedy, but by GTA studio Rockstar.  Aside from strengths and weaknesses, this article illuminates game performance with various notebook GPUs.

How did the 670M with the same CPU as the 675M score better in the two lower tests? THat doesn't seem possible...

I was wondering too, so i repeated the benchmark - same result. Maybe it´s the GPU-driver (296.44 vs. 295.62), maybe the CPU-Turbo worked differently...

HD 6990M scores 58fps @low and 65fps @medium ? Impossible! Also, HD 6970M is faster than GTX 675M, the HD 7970M is a lot more faster than any other.Nvidia cards score better fps @low/medium and worse @high/ultra.That doesn't make any sense.

Different DirectX settings!

Low/medium settings seem a bit CPU-limited.

I've just finished the game on my Dell Inspiron 14 N4050, with a Core i5 2450m, HD Graphics 3000, 4GB of RAM, and it ran really good, with settings on High, Dx9, 1366x768. FPS between 20~45, very much playable. Don't know if ThrottleStop is the guy that made the difference on my case, but i'm really surprised.
